Now running the Twitter desktop app. This thing is a beast, which allows following of our tweeps in the corner of secondary monitor, in a live news-ticker style, while being logged into all of our Twitter accounts simulatneousteez.

Just upgraded OS to Lion & reconfigured a bunch of ish. Really like the way you can push content around and the new swipe feature. Playing with some mobile application development amongst other projects. Had to upgrade in order to download XCode 421. Check out the mobile sites we are working on for:

Just went for a run, downloaded a video editing app for my smart phone, and this is what I made. Going to upgrade to a phone with a better camera and have some ideas how to make this more pro-style… for the next one. Keep in mind this is a mobile video editing and blogging test.

I’m writing about WordPress vs. Blogger because I just started a new blog, which uses the WordPress/RRP platform, had previously setup a Blogger blog, and think my experience might benefit someone trying to start their own blog.
Blogger and WordPress are the leading free blogging services. If you type “blog” into Google, it is most likely that the number one result will be Google owned Blogger, followed by WordPress. I never really got into my Blogger blog. There are some really nice features, especially when it comes to integrating other Google services like AdSense for monetization and Picassa for photos; however, you can easily embed their widgets in WordPress.
WordPress is more open source and community driven. I have decided to go with WordPress because it is completely customizable. Most importantly, it was easy for me to download and host on my own server, thus giving me control over the databases and server-side scripting. I think WordPress has been around longer and has more features and plugins.
After getting started on my new blog I saw someone else post a link to their Blogger blog, was almsot tricked into switching back, but after tinkering around with my old blog I realized I just liked the newer and more sleek generic layout, upgraded the layout on my new blog a bit, and could not be more satisfied with the time spent.

Google+ is the new social networking site, which is based on the Google platform, and currently stands as the second biggest competitive threat to Facebook; the first being yours truly. The last two people I had conversations with claimed to have never heard of Google+. I was surprised to discover it wasn’t something everyone knew about. I heard about Google+ through the social web two months ago and received invites from both an old friend from school and a new one who follows Weed Connection. You have to be invited to join. Comment or email me your email address and I’ll send you an invite. Google has been limiting the number of invites because it is supposedly in some sort of beta mode. There is a lot of hype on my feeds about whether Google+ is going to take over the social networking market or if it’s going to be an epic fail. Reports allegedly indicate that Google has more users at this point, but that does not seem like a valid argument as we are now more connected and Google has been limiting invites.
Personally, I think the video conferencing seems like more of a new stand out feature. I find it strange that Facebook has slowly been eliminating the friend list feature while Google+ is promoting their similar circles as the new innovative thing that sets them apart. Most of what I have heard and read about Google+, which is not much as I’m mostly focused on Weed Connection, & Russell Rope Productions, does not address what I think is cool as an avid Google user. Google+ is a combination of many pre-existing Google services and I see a future convergence of Google everything being interfaced through Google+. So I guess the moral of the story is hit me up if you need an invite or want to talk about conspiracies involving Facebook & Google.

Much deserved credit to the Word Press team as well as the developers of various plug-ins used. Combined with some serious skillz, this uber dynamic blog is a semantic publishing wizard. Russell Rope has maintained several blogs over the years, but this is the best and most content rich. This blog was launched or “relaunched” as an intermediary between Weed Connection and our new and unreleased mainstream digital publication.
